Coming into the 6 pm Main Street of
Naches, WA is a step back in time to where people look at each other and smile
instead of staring into cell phones. The street is wide and welcoming & full
of cars. Wait! Except for the bar all the stores seem closed. What’s with all
the cars? Is there a party somewhere?
Actually, there is is a party! A couple of dozen yellow vested seasoned
and some youthful Lions are celebrating the Lions 100 Year Centennial with a
Birthday Party. District Governor Crystal Walk has brought the party hats,
balloons, pins and party favors!
Naches Sunshine Lion Peggy
Walker has prepared the cake and what a cake it is… Beautifully hand drawn Happy
Ballon Lions and delicious frosting! Wow! Yumm!
5 new members of the Lions of Naches
receive New Serving Generations pins. 58 year Lion Ted Cowan gets pinned,
too, while DG Crystal passes out long service Chevron awards, MD19 Centennial Pins and her
coveted All That and a Bag of Chips Lions Award to other deserving Lions.
Lions Presidents Aaron Roberts & Pat Cossey and Secretary Marty Close receive Lions Centennial Service Awards for their clubs.
Lion Ted Cowan is awarded the Yellow Service Generations Pin for his 58 Years of Service as a Naches Lion.
Lions Jim Gillie and Paul Kauzlarich.
Lions Centennial Party Goers!
Margaret, the Apple
Cart Deli owner where the Naches of Lions meet, says her business and the Lions of Naches are all about
